My extensive experience in education has equipped me with valuable insights into effective literacy instruction. Throughout my 27 years as a classroom teacher, I observed the transformative power of strong reading and writing skills, not just for academic success but for overall personal development in young students.

In my role as an Instructional Coach, I continue to have the privilege of collaborating with many educators. Together, we explore innovative strategies and best practices tailored to meet the diverse needs of our classrooms. The Professional Development sessions I facilitate focus on evidence-based approaches that empower teachers to inspire a love for literacy in their students.

Tutoring young learners is particularly rewarding, as it allows me to provide personalized guidance that addresses individual learning needs. I emphasize the importance of building a strong foundation in literacy, which includes oral language, phonemic awareness, phonics skills, vocabulary development, and comprehension strategies. By fostering these skills early on, we set our students on a path to become confident, capable readers and writers.
